As 2023 comes to a close, it is common for us to reflect on the past year’s events and our own personal growths, setbacks, or hurdles. As we begin to focus on the beginning of a new year, it is also common to make resolutions to ourselves as to positive measures we desire to achieve. We must remember that our residents also take the time to reflect on their own experiences and consider their futures.

Allow residents to verbalize their desires, thought processes, and fears. It is a difficult situation to lose one’s autonomy and remember what once was. As Toby Keith states, “I ain't as good as I once was; my how the years have flown; but there was a time, back in my prime when I could really hold my own.” Slightly different meaning in his song, but it really does ring true to each and every one of us.

From all of us at Lewis Litigation Support & Clinical Consulting, LLC., we wish all of you a happy holiday season and hope you all have a wonderful new year. Thank you for all that you do for your residents, past and present, and remember the impact that you make on a daily basis.
